Couple of questions about Mecha Comet

I learned about the Comet recently and it is really exciting, I have a couple of questions though:

  1. Hardware specs indicate both 2242 and 2230 for expansion, which one is it? I am assuming the latter as it is shown in the storage category.
  2. i.MX 95 version still indicates 2K display output, despite the ability to support 4k. Is this an error in specs or limitation?
  3. Specs indicate 4G modem, but on order page it is still “coming soon” - any ETA on that?

Thank you!

Hey thanks for putting this post up. Here are the answers

  1. The M.2 area can support 2242 and maximum 3042 form factors. 2230 can fit inside but there is no separate screw to hold on 2230 modules, but extenders are available
  2. Our hardware design allows the DisplayPort over Type-C to scale to 4K, because we are using two 4-lane LVDS as an input to our LVDS to DP controller. As per processor reference, via odd-even pixels this can give us combined bandwidth that can drive 4k30. On practical side, we havent been able to get 4k30 working on the evaluation kits due to multitude of reasons, but we got 1080p60 working. So we are waiting to test this properly on the Comet’s IMX95 board that are yet to arrive in two weeks from now.
  3. The LTE modem is installed via M.2 that you can bring on your own, or you can get the modem+antenna pre-assembled from us or buy the modem+antenna kit from us latter. We just got everything cleared off in this week from antenna design, regulatory and carrier support point-of-view. The modem will be available as an addon latest by next week on the Mecha Hub (hub.mecha.so)
