Idea for Terminal like Launcher

Hello to the Comet/Mechanix OS team!

I am really looking forward to see Mecha OS running “in my hands” in autumn.

Just now I had an idea and I would be happy to know what you think about it:

I am using T-UI launcher on my AOSP phone for a long time now and I thought the concept of having a terminal like home screen/launcher (as an option) on Mechanix OS could fit the Comet community.

I like the “split” screen with text based system information on the top - highly customizable of course - and a terminal emulator below.
And I really like calling an application, switching on/off Bluetooth or calling my wife by typing a single letter and hitting return using aliases.

I think this all could be achieved by using a terminal emulator and tmux with a custom configuration as most simple solution…

Sorry, I think I’m getting a bit confused here. Couldn’t you just set the launcher straight to a terminal in the Mechanix OS, then use that to open applications?

Then if some applications have longer commands to open them you could use aliases, or make your own CLI in C or something??
