SDR Support on Comet

Hey! I just heard about the Comet and I’m just about ready to pull the trigger on a pre-order, although I have a specific use case I want to figure out before moving forward.

I am wanting to keep things internal, and the comet fits the form factor and the size I have in mind since I’ve been working on a pocket SDR workstation idea.

The question I have is has the uSDR been tested with the Comet yet? The main concern I have is since I have to use the E-key to B-key they sell, I’m worried the stacked boards aren’t going to fit due to space limitations. Thermals are another issue, but I could always redesign a back cover if necessary.

Curious to hear back about this, I spent a little time reading through the discord and saw there was external antenna support already!

Hey Jordan

We haven’t tested the uSDR with the Comet, it is in our roadmap but we haven’t gotten to it yet. We do want to do something in SDR too with the Comet as an internal solution over M.2.

But as I checked the specs here - uSDR | Crowd Supply the form factor is 2230, and they also sell a B+M to E key adapter with 2242 support, so that means 2230 can convert to 2242 and fit in the Comet.

We do the same with the NVME, so I am sure dimensionally it is not going to be a problem.

Hope this helps!

Someone on our discord also mentioned that they are designing a M.2 solution over B key for the Comet (and it will be open source)
