Some thoughts on privacy features & hardware suggestions

Really loving your project! As a writer with limited tech knowledge but loving terminal for no-GUI writing, this feels like a perfect blend of modern portability with that golden-era computing feel. Here are some thoughts:

Privacy & Controls:

  • Appreciate the no-selfie-camera approach! (Perfect for those who want a device that can’t film them during use - please don’t add one ^^)
  • Physical kill switches for all communication modules (WiFi, Bluetooth, and future 4G) would be amazing
  • Maybe add a fingerprint sensor for quick, secure unlocking?

Hardware Suggestion:

  • A (customizable) rotary wheel on the side would be fantastic - clickable to switch modes (scrolling/brightness/volume/etc.) It would remind me of the old walkmans ^^
  • At least(!) one more custom button (I’d use it for quick note-taking, but others might want different functions, like quick access to the back camera)
  • Maybe magnetic mounting compatibility (like in the Apple ecosystem) for stands and accessories?
  • Option for swappable backplates to support different mounting systems
  • Maybe even add a standard camera tripod mount on the bottom (might be overkill, but could be useful!)

I’m super excited to get a modern device that feels like computers used to be in their golden days. Can’t wait for the Kickstarter! :rocket:

Hey @UifQ , I will reply back soon. Just really held up this week at CES. These are really great ideas, thank you for sharing!

Up! execept for the tripod. It’s a standard female mount it takes too much space, and portability should be more enhanced in future releases.
